We are finally getting settled after the family moved from Charlotte, NC to Omaha, NE.  It has been since April when we found out we were moving that I last posted on my blog; since I was so busy packing what was left after we had a moving sale. Naturally, twenty totes of fabric and several other boxes of supplies from Sew LIttle Stitches had to be packed very carefully.  Then the rest of our personal belongings and homeschooling materials were the bulk of our boxes.  The movers did a good job and, so far, not a thing was broken during the move.

The kids and I had to stay in Charlotte to get our house in order to list it on the market and spend some time with both sides of the family.  We finally made the big move on July 2nd from NC and arrived to Omaha, NE on July 3rd. Yes we drove overnight and had an interesting weather that night and was welcomed by a deer hitting our van in Iowa in the morning.  We were all safe and made it fine; but the van did not so we had a rental car the first month we were here.  We have adjusted to living on the 3rd floor of our apartment.  We only buy groceries that we can carry up. :-)  We know were a lot of the local parks are so that the kids can play outside, although we miss having a backyard.

We only unpacked the things we need at the apartment for now.  The only boxes totally unpacked are my fabrics and sewing supplies.  I am back to sewing again and can't wait to start listing items to sell again on Etsy and post pictures of baby blankets that I have been making.  I have also signed up to do several craft shows in town.

I look forward to getting Sew Little Stitches back up in Nebraska and continue what I started in North Carolina.

I love making clothes for them and blankets. They actually like picking their own fabric which gets me in trouble at the cash register when I find out how much my total is. They have good taste when it comes to fabrics. They like to tell me what they want made with it , too.

I would show my friends and family what I made and they would want me to make one for them or their family as well. I started making things for baby showers, presents for birthdays and bags of sorts. I also love personalizing my items through embroidering names and monograms.

I enjoy making personalized items the most. It gives me great pleasure to put names or monograms on items I make. It gives it that special touch.
