about me

I am a visual artist working primarily in watercolor, pen & ink, or acrylics.  I have no formal art education, but have been creating artwork in one form or another all of my life.  I love to experiment and have painted on objects as diverse as satellite dishes, eggshells and mailboxes.

I was born and raised inland, far from the sea, but my heart has always drawn me to the beach and the water.  I have had the good fortune of traveling throughout the continental US and Canada plus Hawaii, Mexico, 4 European countries, and numerous Caribbean islands.  I always return to my greatest love – the Gulf Coast of Florida.  I have lived many places along this stretch of Paradise – from Pensacola to Key Largo.  The majority of my paintings depict scenes from these areas.

In addition to painting, I love to photograph the ocean and tropical beaches.  My photographs have been sold in galleries and through stock photo agencies, and I travel frequently with camera in hand. Occasionally, I write articles for publication in magazines and journals.

Recently, I have been experimenting with placing reproductions of my art on pendants. A few of these are now available in my shop.

I also paint from photographs – if the subject interests me and I feel I can do it justice.  The person providing the photograph is given the right of first refusal to the original painting before it is offered to the general public. Prints are also available for purchase.

Some of my work is on display at Art in Hair Gallery in Cape Coral, Florida and has appeared in juried events including various shows at the Art League of Ft Myers, the ALFM exhibit at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater in Fort Myers, Florida and Arts Quest in Grayton Beach, Florida. I have also been the featured artist at the Morgan House in Fort Myers, Florida.  I am the illustrator for the book, The Bay Men, published in the summer of 2010.
