I grew up in a rural part of eastern Kentucky, and as a child I was always into poison ivy. (My first week of fourth grade was marred by pink spots of calamine lotion on my face from a poison ivy outbreak.) My mother finally found an herb native to our area that helps heal the rashes and reduce the itching, jewelweed. Native Americans used it for the same purposes, and its use has flourished in recent years. I made this soap to treat poison ivy, rashes, insect bites, and other itchies I encounter. With the addition of coffee on one side for light scrubbing, you will find relief in every bar!
In addition to its soothing properties, this soap has a sweet pomegranate fragrance that is delightful to the senses. Each bar weighs between 2 and 3 oz.
