I'm obsessed with frame purses.  I think you can find three or four of my own around the apartment.  I use this small size not only for coins, but also candy! 

I used a grey print from heather ross' far far away II for the shell. the lining is 100% chambray cotton.

I also wanted it to be easy to hold on those days it was all I needed, so a little cutout for my hand became key. I repeated the shape on the flap after having fun with some scraps and a little quilting. inside is a small pocket, big enough for your id. two darts make the body roomier than it appears. 

the shell is a gorgeous natural linen. the flap is made up of different cotton prints. the lining is a chocolate brown solid that compliments the brown and green polka dots pocket.
