On September 29 my school had our tenth annual Walk-A-Ton. Our Walk-A-Ton is to raise money for our school. All kids participate by running laps to raise money.
This Walk-A-Ton was different because the track was longer, and it made us try harder to reach our goal. This Walk-A-Ton had more parent volunteers who participated with helping, and our principle wore a Halloween costume of buzz light year!
After the Walk-A-Ton was over, the parent volunteers counted the laps everyone did, in every class. After it was counted the parent volunteers gave out plastic feet for every five laps you did. I did 46 laps so I got 9 little feet to put on a bright silver chain. I got 6 more laps than my goal of 40 and I walked and ran 5 ½ miles that day.
This year, it was a beautiful sunny day which made it awesome! I contributed to the Walk-A-Ton by giving $117 dollars to my school by asking my parents friends to donate.
Our school’s goal is to raise 53,000 dollars by October 8, 2010. If you would like to support my and donate please contact me.
I think the Walk-A-Ton was a great success!!
