There's just something about a personalized onesie or tee that I love. Letters themselves can be so pretty and then adding in the fun fabric dimension, each item can be a one-of-a-kind creation. The onesie pictured was a custom order, and I thought a "z" (though I am very partial to it) can be a harsh-looking letter. I branched out from my typical lettering font to a new scripted one. I love it. Don't you?

Excuse the terrible photo. I was eager to send off these tees once I finished them, so I just snapped a quick picture. This order was from a mom with triplets, so each kid would be in a "ho" t-shirt. Together they would make a cute picture for their Christmas card. Merry Christmas!

I'd love some advice. I think I need an SLR camera to take better pictures, not only of my products, but of my kids, life, and everything else! If you have a camera you love I'd love to hear about it. Tell me what you have and why you love it. Or if you're in the same boat as me I'd love to hear what kind of camera you want and why. Now I need to start saving my pennies!

I've created a few new things for the upcoming 'Cozy Chic Fall Boutique' on Tuesday. Hope you can make it!

I branched out a bit to sew a number of throw pillows, and there are a couple new fun designs for tees and one pieces!

Here's a onesie for a baby that hasn't been born yet and the mom and dad are waiting to find out if it's a boy or girl until it's born (notice the fairly gender neutral colors), but they have been calling the baby 'peanut'. A good friend of theirs thought it would be fun to commemorate the nickname by ordering a custom onesie. I love how the embroidery part is so textured and how the word kind of curves around the shape of the peanut.

Nothing says "Go away, you're not welcome here" or "we're so boring" as our entry way. It's an awkward spot because it's small, but certainly there are some creative, dynamic, exciting options out there that communicate "hey! we're so glad you're here! come on in!". SO, I need some ideas. I'm open to any and all ideas. Here's one of my own: spray paint the mirror magenta. The problem is I got distracted after that thought wondering the degree to which my husband would hate it. If you have aaaany ideas, I'd be excited to hear them to see what I can come up with. It's like virtual interior design!

I love sewing tees and onesies for kids and babies, but I love just making things in general. I'm sure many of you do too. I know two incredibly creative women who always have amazing new things that they have made. I want to be like both of them when I grow up. So, of course they came up with a super-chic fall wreath and even let everyone in on how to do it here and also displayed here! Since I want to be like them, I just HAD to make one, and I like how it turned out. Here's mine. Not quite as cool as theirs, but I still like it. It makes our front door look fancy, so that's faaaaaaabulous. Welcome fall!

Though I do think that those little boy outfits that are "trying to look like a man" are cute (vests, khakis, button down shirts, etc), they are too much fuss for a baby. Call me lazy, call me casual, but the tie one piece is just simply the best option for dressing your little man up--it's easy, it's cute, and it always draws a little bit of humor. I finally came up with an option for a girl. A few people had mentioned doing a necklace, but I was scared. I didn't know how to make it look real or cute. I just thought I'd go for it, and I'm glad I did, because now sweet baby girl has a great option to dress up as well, and she'll always have the right accessories.

Baby girl will be looking very put together with her double layered "necklace" one piece accented with multiple attached flowers. It's a chinch to throw on under leggings, a skirt or tutu knowing her accessories are taken care of!

Fall gets me excited! Now that I don't have that dreadful feeling of having to go back to school (I wasn't always a fan) fall means: sweaters, white pumpkins (i love them), warm drinks--mulled wine or cider, and most importantly (to me at least) FOOTBALL. I love the sound of a football game on TV. I love attending football games. I've been too many. many. many. many. The Ravens are my new favorite team, and I wanted a cool shirt for my new cool team. So here it is. I like it because it's subtle. I'm contemplating adding this kind of dramatic silver and faux diamond button for an eye, but I can't decide...eye? or keep it simple without an eye? I do lots of designs for babies and kids, but haven't done much for older kids. I just got to make a special order for a 10-year-old, and it was really fun to do something totally new for an older kid! I think it turned out pretty cool. There's argyle on the side seam so it will show from the front and back. What's your opinion? Think a 10-year-old would like it?

I partnered with a few friends and new friends in a fun summer boutique tonight. We set up in a gorgeous back yard, enjoyed some yummy treats and drinks, and enjoyed seeing everyone's creativity and meeting everyone's friends! It was great! I love ruffles and I love the Union Jack. I think I offend my English Nana every time I show her something I've sewn with my version of the Union Jack because it's never the "proper" colors. I did it again today, but I love the results (sorry Nana)--I sewed a t-shirt for myself today combining my two favorite things! Cream and navy ruffles on a green and blue tile-patterned ground, sewn to a soft grey t-shirt. I can't wait to wear it.

Personalization was all the rage like 8 years ago...you could buy everything with your initial on it--EVERYthing. I grew really sick of it all, but somewhere inside me I must still secretly love it, because I'm bringing it back. Each time I do one of these personalized letters, I love it. I can't get over them, so I keep making them. I especially love the double-layered single lowercase initial. Check them out, and bring them back with me!
