Did you hear about it yet? It's here, well almost...PayPal just announced their new mobile solution to compete with Square and it's called PayPal Here, "the simple way to accept credit and debit cards, PayPal and checks - anywhere you do business."
Here are 4 reasons you should sign up for PayPal's new mobile solution today:
1. Accepts Multiple Payment Options
You can accept multiple payment options in addition to PayPal payments, including credit and debit cards, checks, cash and you can even send invoices directly from the mobile app.
2. Payments Are Available Immediately
All of your payments collected through PayPal Here are immediately available in your PayPal account the same day of the sales so you can easily transfer to your bank or withdraw into a PayPal merchant debit card.
3. Only 2.7% Transaction Fee
All payments swiped on your PayPal Here with a card have a 2.7% transaction fee taken by PayPal (similar to Square who charges 2.75%). And, if you take checks or send invoices, it's completely free of charge with no hidden fees.
4. Free Card Reader and Mobile App
Just like Square, you get your own PayPal Here (it's a little blue triangle) card reader for FREE! It works with both Apple iPhones and Android phones.
What do you think?

Do you know if it will work in Canada?
Great question Nikki! I'm sure it will be available everywhere PayPal is currently available although I can not confirm. We'll have to wait and see until they officially launch.
This is great! I use square at craft fairs on the weekend and love it. I will now be able to get payment instantly and use my PayPal debit card to access funds immediately.
Thanks!
i've had a square swiper for over a year... but i'm much happier that paypal is going to jump into the ring, because i'd much rather keep all my money from sales in my paypal account and separate from my other money!
Like Nikki I'm curious if it works in Canada. If so I look forward to using it!
Just confirmed with PayPal that it will work in both the U.S. and Canada!
Very cool...glad to see PayPal has entered into this fray. The PayPal website said that the PayPal Here reader will be available later this spring and that they're in the initial rollout phase now. It's possible to sign up on their site for notification when it will be made available publicly.
