4 Ways To Build Your Brand

We all know that starting your business takes a lot of effort and keeping it going requires even more.  One of the keys to any successful business is a strong brand.  So, how do you build a strong brand?  Just like all great things, it takes time although you can definitely accelerate your brand awareness and visibility by focusing your efforts and actively searching for the right opportunities to build your brand.

Here are 4 ways to get you and your business the visibility and awareness while also building your brand and increasing your sales:

1. Blog and Comment

We repeat this over and over again, blog about your business because it works!  It's so important to connect with your community and others outside your network and setting up a blog and writing about your business is the perfect medium to do so.

If you're not the writing type, then make sure you're at least reading other blogs and commenting on blog posts in order to connect and grow connections so you and your brand will become more visible...and, be sincere and relevant to the content in the post.

2. Join a Group

This one may sound a little generic, but trust me it's not.  There are SO MANY groups to join it's not even funny, both online and offline.  Find groups that interest you, especially ones that are relevant to your business and you will be surprised how much your network and most likely sales increase because of the connections you make within these groups.

3. Post an Instruction Video or Online Tutorial

Lead by example.  Be an authority in your field.  Share your expertise.  We've all heard these phrases before and it's because they're great strategies for building a business.

The best way is to put your expertise out there for everyone to learn from so create an instructional video or online tutorial.  This is such a great way to attract new customers, validate your products, grow your network and ultimately build your brand as a leader in the field.  And, don't be shy to share this knowledge for free...it will come back tenfold as your audience begins to share you and your tutorials with their networks.

4. Write and Publish an eBook

This one is much easier than you might think...and, it's very effective.  Just like creating an instructional video or online tutorial, share your expertise in an eBook which you can publish and share (via PDF format) online easily.

An eBook is a great way to establish credibility in your field and attract customers and partners to your business.  And, don't worry if you don't know how to publish an eBook, there are many helpful resources to understanding the winning strategies for writing an eBook.

So, build your brand awareness today and share your favorite blog, eBook, instructional video, online tutorial or group with us - we love to learn everyday!

@Alissa - You're absolutely right and the best way to manage this is to use services like Technorati to find the blogs you like and then use Google Reader to subscribe to your favorite blogs so they automatically populate in one place for easy reading!
