Do you sell your products in person? For example, at a local art & craft show or a Saturday farmer's market or even hosted your own party at home. Regardless of the venue, there are a few 'must do' strategies for selling in person.
So, here are my top 5 strategies for selling your products in person:
1. Bring The 3 B's
Make sure you have the 3 B's: Bills, Business cards and Bags. Don't forget the small dollar bills ones, fives, tens, and twenties to make change, bring business cards to help spread the word and provide bags (or boxes) so customers have something to carry their purchases home in.
2. Stock Up On Inventory
Make sure you stock up on your inventory. You can only sell as much supply as you have in person, so it's best to be prepared with lots of variety.
3. Use Visual Product Displays
Create visual displays to showcase your products and spread them out. Organize each display around a theme such as color, style, or type as it makes it easier for people to browse and buy from their preferred theme.
4. Bring Your Mirrors
If you're selling wearable products like jewelry or clothing, make sure you don't forget the mirrors. People want to see what it looks like on them and having mirrors positioned throughout your booth or venue makes it super easy!
5. Invite Your Friends To Help
Bring your friends along to help you. Designate a friend to be your cashier to free you up to answer questions and mingle with customers. Assign another friend the task of recording your sales in spreadsheet or collecting email addresses from your customers so you can send them a 'thank you' later. Another friend can be tasked with keeping the displays in order...it helps to have someone keeping the products organized for the next person.
