Why is it important?
As we discussed here, packaging is an important part of branding – and branding should always remain consistent – even for your flat products.
What you will need:
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Pen/Pencil
- One sheet of solid color cardstock
- A ribbon of your color choice

This is a great idea!
Just yesterday I lay in bed before falling asleep and was thinking about how to package the decals I’m planning to create (for laptops, iPhones etc.) And today I got this post in my inbox, thanks for that!
Thank you so much! It’s so simple and practical. Can’t wait to try it out on my stuff.
Dionne – I love that this is so easy to do. . . and that it looks so great. I’m thinking this is a fun way to send pics to family & friends, it’s just spices everything up & it’s totally affordable. Yay!!
thanks for this great tip.
i, for the life of me can’t seem to wrap a gift properly. this will prove to be quite useful.
thanks
That’s some fine wrapping, thank you for the tutorial! My items are irregular in thickness, so I wrap them up tissue paper. That’s ok, but actually a compromise. I shall try to wrap them up the above way in future. It will protect them from damages, the cover will carry my logo and my customer will feel like having received a present. Great!
wonderful tutorial and so worth keeping.
What a clever and lovely wrapping idea – thanks for sharing it with us!
An awesome tutorial for very beautiful (and adaptable) gift wrapping.
I’m going to be trying it out with my jewellery.
Thanks!
Very cute tutorial Dionne! Thanks for sharing!
really useful! I’ve never thought of cutting the center sides like that! it definitely is helpful! yay! loves
I know how lovely this package is!! :)
First time I saw it, I hesitated to untie the ribbon to open.
I showed it to my Japanese friends and they were just impressed with it. Great idea!
Dionne, that is so clever! & so simple… I love it:)
I wrapped up a current order this way and it looks just fine! I posted the pictures on my blog and linked back to this tutorial.: http://zafraniversum.blogspot.com/2010/02/happy-packaging.html
Thank you once more!
Eva! I am thrilled that you tried out this tutorial and liked it! I stopped by your blog and saw the pics – it looks great!
such a pretty package! and so easy, I can do it! :) that’s perfection in my book.
Thanks! I also use flattened necklace gift boxes to ship cards in. The gift boxes come in bright colors and patterns and the ends can be tied off with ribbon to ship flat. If delivered in person one end can be sealed and the other end left open to look like a “gift bag.” Love the tutorials!
