How to Package Flat Products Beautifully

As we discussed in our previous post, packaging is an important part of branding – and branding should always remain consistent – even for your flat products.

It's difficult to find packaging for flat items.  Usually there's a choice between different types of envelopes, but that gets a little boring - no matter how fancy the envelope is.

This tutorial will show you how to make a quick, easy and lovely, handmade package for any flat items you might have - postcards, photograph prints, thin booklets or fabric. Anything flat!

This is a great idea!
Just yesterday I lay in bed before falling asleep and was thinking about how to package the decals I’m planning to create (for laptops, iPhones etc.) And today I got this post in my inbox, thanks for that!

Dionne – I love that this is so easy to do. . . and that it looks so great. I’m thinking this is a fun way to send pics to family & friends, it’s just spices everything up & it’s totally affordable. Yay!!

That’s some fine wrapping, thank you for the tutorial! My items are irregular in thickness, so I wrap them up tissue paper. That’s ok, but actually a compromise. I shall try to wrap them up the above way in future. It will protect them from damages, the cover will carry my logo and my customer will feel like having received a present. Great!

I know how lovely this package is!! :)
First time I saw it, I hesitated to untie the ribbon to open.
I showed it to my Japanese friends and they were just impressed with it. Great idea!

Thanks! I also use flattened necklace gift boxes to ship cards in. The gift boxes come in bright colors and patterns and the ends can be tied off with ribbon to ship flat. If delivered in person one end can be sealed and the other end left open to look like a “gift bag.” Love the tutorials!

I LOVE this tutorial! I have referred back to it many times when packaging my small flat paintings. It makes a terrific presentation and I've always gotten feedback on how much my customers appreciated the effort. Many artists have difficulties packaging their paintings in an attractive way and this is a great solution!
Thanks!
