Thanks for posting about this. I’ve tried many times to add the Facebook fan page to my Wordpress blog, Catwalk Threads, http://catwalkthreads.wordpress.com

However, I copy and paste the correct html into my new widget but when I click ‘save’ it amends the html code to something completely different so I can’t see my fan box anywhere.

I’ve no idea why this happens. I guess I’ll contact Wordpress about this. I thought I was doing something wrong but I’ve followed your guide, step by step.

Anyone else have problems adding their page to their Wordpress blog?

Thanks for the post. :)

Thanks so much for the step-by-step on putting the Fan Box on your blog, Justine.
I blundered my way through getting mine on to my Wordpress blog (it can be so fussy at times!) – just wish I had of found your step-by-step first :-)
Cheers,
Tasha

I’ve now received a reply direct from WordPress. You can’t add the Facebook fan page widget to WordPress.com.

These widgets can only be added to those who have the WordPress.org blog which isn’t free.

Good morning :) Is it possible to add the fan box to my Etsy store? Whenever I copy and paste the code, it just shows up as text. Boo.

Hey Guys

@Louise – such a shame about wordpress.com! You can add them to Typepad & Blogger which are both free. I think sometimes there are such limitations on wordpress.com blogs because they want you to get a self-hosted site at .org.

@Julie – No, you can’t add a fan page box to your etsy shop, but you can do it the other way around (add the etsy mini or store application to your fan page). An interesting idea you should mention in the ideas thread in the etsy forums!

Thank you so much! I’ve been trying to do this for a couple of months now and could never figure out how to do it right. I’m so glad it finally works now.
