Valentine's Day doesn't have to mean robotically buying a dozen (overpriced) red roses or a heart-shaped box of chocolates. Bo-ring!
Chances are, our significant others will appreciate something a little more original and unique. So, we went looking for a little Valentine's Day creativity, and found that there's lots of handmade stuff out there to love. Here are just a few of our favorite things:
Diamonds may be a girl's best friend, but if serious hardware isn't in the cards, lots of women would happily accept a fresh, funky charm bracelet. This beautiful lampwork creation comes from WM Jewelry.

Simple, natural and fun, this "Tweet Heart" pendant from ZephyrWoods makes a fun accessory – especially for Twitter enthusiasts.

Has anyone else's spouse been kidnapped and held hostage by an iPhone? My significant other goes "missing" with his quite regularly, so I relate to the need for the reassuring message provided by this card, from Tisa's Creations.

If you've outgrown the thrill of eating SweeTarts candy, you can still bathe in them. Well, in bath bombs made to look like them. Another great idea from Bathgasm, these come in a set of five hearts, each with a different scent.

Little bowls of cinnamon hearts pop up on countertops this time of year. This necklace, from Cricket Creek Designs (Snohomish, WA), gives you the look without the intense cinnamon taste. It's made with red glass beads and Swarovski crystals, on a silver-plated chain.

Lavender Greetings' colorful "Love" card will brighten someone's Valentine's Day or other special occasion. It's great to have a few like this on hand.
