Motivate Yourself With An Inspiration Board

Do you constantly find yourself tearing great pictures and recipes out of catalogs and magazines?  Maybe you write down all the wonderful quotes you find or perhaps you avidly bookmark all the wonderful resources you come across on the web?  If this is the case, an inspiration board might be the perfect way for you to display those items and motivate yourself in the future!

Inspiration boards are collages of things that inspire you.  They can be geared toward specific themes, like your dream wedding or your ideal home to more general themes around things that you enjoy or that captivate you.

Your inspiration board can be created virtually (computer generated) with programs such as Photoshop or Picasa or it can be tangible, made out of materials such as a cork or poster board with images, magazine clippings, or other items that interest you.  The beauty of an inspiration board is that it’s yours and you can personalize it anyway you like!  You can create it to have the look and feel of whatever you desire, and the sky is the limit!

Walt Disney said, “If you can dream it, you can do it” and by keeping an inspiration board, you’ll have a pleasant and constant reminder of the things you’re dreaming about, bringing you that much closer to making those dreams a reality.

So, do you have an inspiration board or will you be creating one in the near future?  Upload a picture of your inspiration board to our Flickr Group and tell us about what you’d like to incorporate on yours!

The thing I love about inspiration, is that you just never know where it will come from, seeing something in your daily life, or even having a meal, the smells and textures can inspire you.
I sometimes like to look at the Flickr pages too, always fun to see how our fellow artisans come up with clever solutions to everyday problems
