Working alone is an exciting prospect, but it can be a little lonely. The key to make working alone more fun is to stay inspired. Here are some ideas to help you find inspiration as a solopreneur.
Join a Networking Group
There are thousands of people across the country operating small businesses. Networking groups can help you find like-minded people to share your successes and challenges with. Visit local networking groups until you find one that fits or join an online networking group to meet people around the world.
Find a Mastermind Group
A mastermind group is a collective of two or more people who come together to share experiences, brainstorm and motivate each other to take their businesses to the next level. Your group can meet in person, on the phone or via online chat at regular intervals. The accountability of the group will help you focus on your goals.
Get Outside
One of the biggest challenges of working from home is your home. Household tasks, family members and even the phone can distract you. Try a change of scenery and take your work to a library, coffee shop or the home office of an entrepreneurial friend. A change may be all you need to come up with your next great idea.
Delegate
Itʼs difficult to grow your business if you spend all of your time running it. Hire a personal assistant to take on simple tasks like customer service emails or website updates. You can use an online outsourcing site to hire a virtual assistant because it gives you more access to a larger pool of talent than simply advertising locally.
Make Space
When you work at your kitchen table itʼs hard to get into the right headspace. A dedicated workspace will help you focus on your business, and helps the people in your life recognize and respect your work time. Create a space that inspires you to work, welcomes you into it and helps keep you organized. Collect all of your supplies and anything else you need in the space so that when you sit down to work you’re ready to invest your time.
