As a busy entrepreneur, it’s often hard to take a step back and see how you are using your time. Taking a break to look at where you’ve been, where you are and where you want to be is essential to your ability to grow your business and enjoy the journey.
Here are some things to keep in mind when thinking about how you spend your time.
Set Goals
These don’t have to be major life plans, like become a millionaire by 40, but they should include a range of short and long term goals. Start with a goal for the week, the month and the year. When you understand where you want to take your business, it’s easier to get there. Update your plans as your business and life change – and remember that change is good.
Delegate
No one is good at everything, and the sooner you realize your strengths the easier it will be to find people to compliment them. Delegate the non-essential or specifically technical tasks of your day-to-day business to others, so you have time to concentrate on improving your product and growing your business.
Jump In
There is no such thing as perfect - no perfect time and no perfect product. If you consistently wait for everything to be perfect you’ll never release that new product or take that next step. Taking chances can be scary, but it’s also how we learn.
Find Balance
Your business is your passion, but you need to eat, do household chores, spend time with the people in your life and sleep too. Plan your day in advance to ensure you have time for all of the important aspects of your life and don’t become overwhelmed with your to-do list.
