Even the best promise can't trump the actual results.

Look around - there are too many people promising something or the other. Most of them have no interest in actually fulfilling those promises.

Why?

Probably the easiest way to get attention is to make a BIG promise. A small promise will get ignored. But the problem is that in order to fulfill a BIG promise, a MASSIVE effort has to be underway. That is hard work over a long period of time. Not many want to sign up for that part of the work.

It's a fantasy to expect rewards for future accomplishments.

In Your Cube: As a reminder to everyone visiting to promise less and deliver more.

In the Conference Room: Reminder to everyone having meetings there - to focus less on promises and more on producing results.
