Last night I was at the memorial service of Nirbhaya who recently died from a brutal attack in New Delhi. This memorial was hosted by WASITRAC.
This painting is about standing together to support each other. Until recently, I was unsure of what this painting represented. Nirbhaya just like many others in the world go through very bad situations because no one comes to help because people do not want to be involved. Although everyone wants to help but they are afraid to and because of that many innocent people are hurt.
I believe that if we all stand together to help each other then many innocent people in the world will not get hurt and the world will be a better place.
I want all of you to download this painting and be reminded that when we speak up there are others who will stand up to support you. Just take the STEP to say "Violence Has To Stop" and "We Stand With Each Other".
I believe the leadership, our community and my friends will all take the right steps to make right policies to make the world a better place. The time is now!! We need to stand together.
"People underestimate their capacity for change. There is never a right time to do a difficult thing." John Porter
My sincere thanks to Rep. Marcie Maxwell for purchasing my painting to be a part of the Democratic Caucus room in the State Capitol in Olympia, WA as a reminder that "WE STAND TOGETHER" to create healthier and safer communities.
Thanks for reading my view. Let me know what will make you stand together against violence.
